“This program is much more
than motivational… “My
Words” is a powerful way to
provide hope and healing for
the lonely kid, by inspiring
those who are influential and
popular among the student
body to begin TODAY using
their words to build up those
around them.”

“Michael, your message was
amazing.  I have already
recommended your program to
four other schools!”
Cheryl Ames

“I never knew that other
people went through what I am
going through.  Thank you for
caring.”

Attending school for me was a horrendous duty.  It was not because of the homework, tests, or pop quizzes.  It was
because of the other students.  The bullying I underwent as a student is something that I am still reminded of.  Because
of my experiences I have developed the “My Words” program.  This 30-minute school assembly combines comedy,
magic, and emotional stories to deliver to students an anti-bullying message.  And it is suitable for all students K-12.

The Safe School Initiative, a three year joint study between the United States Secret Service and Department of
Education on the topic of American school shootings from 1999-2002 found that “Many attackers (71%) felt bullied,
persecuted, or injured by others prior to the attack.”  The report stated “In one case, most of the attacker’s
schoolmates described the attacker as “the kid everyone teased.”  Bullying has become one of the greatest problems in
American schools.  In a poll conducted June 30,2002, CNN found that students are more afraid of verbal violence
than physical violence.  The Safe School Initiative encourages schools to facilitate programs such as this, citing that
“The prevalence of bullying found in this and other recent studies should strongly support ongoing efforts to reduce
bullying in American schools.”

180 Degrees, a non-profit organization dedication to seeing youth turn their life around 180 degrees and begin making
good choices is attempting to curb the incidence of bullying by classmates through Michael Cabell’s “My Words”
assemblies.  Speaker and comedian Michael Cabell is a energetic speaker who has communicated to over 70,000
students nationwide.   His “My Words” program communicates to students of all ages the need to positively impact
our school with the words we speak.  As the assembly begins Michael captures the students’ attention with his
hilarious thoughts and comical antics, which are followed by emotional stories that are sure to touch each and every
student.  Then, each student is given the “My Words” challenge where they are told to positively influence their school,
community, nation, and world with their words.

Scheduling Fee
The cost of the “My Words” assembly is $200.  Additional assemblies for the same day are $100.  The additional
assemblies may be given at the same school or any other school in the area.  Some schools opt to work together to
receive a cheaper rate.  There is no minimum or maximum number of assemblies which can be given.
