Recently, a group of 21 students from Vincennes University joined Mission:180 at the Casa Hogar Emmanuel
Orphanage in Naco, Sonora, Mexico.  The group help paint a new church, repaired some water lines, helped remodel
the kitchen at the orphanage, and enjoyed lots of time with the children.  It was a blessing to everyone!  This summer
several of the students will be returning to serve on the Arizona-Mexico border.

Michael Cabell

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know how our mission trip to Poland went this summer. Michael and I got back 2
days ago and what an incredible experience we had! We led a group of 7 and worked at a church in the city of
Glowgow, PL where there was about 80,000 people. We worked at one of the three Protestant churches in the city
(most of the city is catholic, but it is very different that catholicism in America...it is more like a cult with a huge emphasis
on Mary worship). It was a small baptist church of only about 90 people but it is growing rapidly. Anyway in the morning
and afternoons we worked at an center for abused and underprivileged children and in the evenings we hosted a VBS at
the church. The pastor told us to plan for 30 kids or so but we ended up having over 80 kids everyday!! It was
incredible and praise God we had enough VBS supplies. Anyway, we had the opportunity to talk to so many people
about Christianity. It's so amazing that so many people in the world have no idea what a relationship with Jesus is like
and are just consumed by religion and rituals. It was also interesting to see how other parts of the world view Americans.
Everyone in Poland could not understand why we would want to come to such a poor country when we've "got
America". In fact if someone is wealthy in their country their saying for that is "They've got America". So it was neat to
enlighten them to the American reality that everyone is not rich and happy all the time, the way we are so often perceived.
We also had the opportunity to go to Germany and do some sight-seeing. We toured two castles that were absolutely
amazing (in fact, a couple from our trip got engaged in one of the castles...it was so romantic). Overall it was a great
experience and I praise God for the work He is doing in Glowgow and allowing us to take part in it. Thank you all so
much for your prayers and support and I would love to hear from you all!!
By His Grace,
Carrie Cabell
